The #ad disclosure checklist

• Say it clearly that the post is an adUse unmistakable words like "#ad", "Advertisement", or "Paid partnership with [Brand]". Vague tags like #sp, #collab, #ambassador, or #thanks are not enough on their own.
• Put the disclosure where people will actually see itNot buried at the end of a long caption, hidden in a block of hashtags, or below a "more" cut-off. Put it up front.
• Disclose gifted and free products too — not just cash dealsIf a brand gave you the product for free, sent it hoping for a post, or gave you a commission/affiliate cut, that relationship needs disclosing.
• Say it out loud in videos, not just in the captionFor Reels, TikToks, and YouTube, include a spoken or clearly on-screen disclosure — many viewers never read the caption.
• Use the platform "Paid partnership" tool AND your own wordsToggling the built-in label is good, but don't rely on it alone. Add your own clear disclosure in the caption or video.
• Disclose on every sponsored postEach post stands on its own. Disclosing once in your bio or on an earlier post does not cover later ones.
• Keep the disclosure in the same language as your postIf you post in German, disclose in German. The audience has to understand it.
• Only endorse what you actually used and believeDon't claim results you didn't get, and don't say you use something you don't. Honest opinions only.
